Question: Where can I see VEMCO Products live
Answer: Demonstrations can be arranged at our Show Room in our Headquarters, at selected trade shows where interactive is used, or at the Business Partners' show rooms located in a wide range of countries.
Installations
Question : Does each system need to be installed by VEMCO engineers at each location?
Answer: No. If you or your technician or engineer are trained for that, you may install them yourselves. It is very important that the people attending the first training session have knowledge in installations. It is also a good idea to have a VEMCO technician attending the first system installation and make a local training session (see training below).
Training
Question: Is there an initial training and maintenance team?
Answer: Yes, and there are two ways to do this:
1) You send a technician to us . This is the best method because all systems and engineers are available in our headquarters.
2) We send our engineer to do the first installation and he will train your group in the process, on-site. In this case, travel and accommodation are arranged by you.
Software
Question: Does VEMCO software require computer programming? If so, can anybody do it?
Answer: Usually the only programming needed is to create the contents that need to be shown. Content creation can be done by us, by you, by the end user or by one of their sub-contractors.
Contents
Content for Holo-Interactive can be created using FLASH or HTML or any other programming environment that creates content for any "touch screen" application. To obtain good results , you should be sure that you create content that is easy to navigate without a standard mouse.
Question : How complicated is the software interface to, for example, a web site?
Answer: It is simple: VEMCO emulates standard mouse commands. Therefore, almost any digital content that can be used only with a mouse can work with our technology. The main worry should be about button sizes than do need to be at least equal, preferably bigger, than your finger size when presented on the screen.
Warranty
Question : What is the manufacturer warranty status?
Answer: Our technology has two years on parts and labor.
Delivery
Question : Are the parts of the different products ready for shipment from VEMCO or should authorized Business Partners maintain stock?
Answer: Business Partners are not required to maintain stock. VEMCO keeps many parts in stock. However, given the wide range of configurations possible, some parts for a specific configuration may need to be arranged. In this case, it may take between 2 to 5 weeks to be ready for shipment. If you run a 'time critical' installation, that specific case should be discussed in detail, eventually considering the need for you to keep some stock of your own.
Lifetime
Question : How long do VEMCO products last?
Answer: The core element we provide is hardware and software with a lifetime expectancy of around 12 years. If you want you can locally provide to your end-user the Plasma, LCD Tv, Computer and Video Projector.
Quality
Question : Does the VEMCO technology degrade the picture quality ?
Answer: No. The picture quality is the same as any computer video or image. If you are going to be using a rear-projection screen and you need to choose a projector we advise you to have one with high-quality so that you develop a good project / installation. Our technology does not degrade the picture quality.
Projector
Question : What is the cost of the projector ?
Answer: We usually analyses each specific projector for each specific installation. We have a list of projectors suitable for every screen size that we provide on the training.
Question : What is the power required for displays or projectors used with VEMCO products?
Answer: Some units can use Plasma, LCD screens or Tft displays. Regarding projectors, this depends on the product and if it is in a low-ambient light or high light situation. Generally, Holo-Interactive 50' works well with projectors of 2500 up to 3500 lumen. Interactive Floor works with 4500-5500 lumen projectors
Computer
Question : Can i use my computer ?
Answer: We can provide the first computer so it is "known good". In that case it can be used as a 'reference' unit. After that you can provide your own computer and test its performance against the first unit. In the case of Interactive Floor the computer has to be a VEMCO-prepared system. Overall, our software does not require special features nor heavy memory resources and most computers with the same specifications as our computer will work.
Interactive Floor
Question : Can logos and images be changed in Interactive Floor ?
Answer: Yes, after the training session you will know how to do it. The software you have does allow you to change it for standard developed effects. That way you can create personalized applications.
Question : Can I write my own 'games'/applications for Interactive Floor ?
Answer: If the content you wish to deploy cannot be produced using the effects available from us, you need to contact VEMCO to produce that specific content..
Question : Is a special floor needed?
Answer: White-colored non-reflective floors work well. If projecting on dark stone it would be advisable to lay down some flooring. White linoleum works. In temporary situations, like a trade show, a texture white rug is sufficient (although hard to keep clean).
